our recent stay in cat ba island was amazing, but catba palace exceeded expectations. the clean room, friendly staff, and peaceful location made for a comfortable and hassle-free experience. the breakfast pho and crêpes were delicious too. definitely a good value!

Value for price was excellent. Hotel staff were friendly and a few spoke English quite well. Breakfast was limited, but it was free and well prepared. Dinner menu was extensive, food was well prepared and presented, and reasonably priced ($2.50 to $5.00 usd). WiFi in the room, three computers in lobby for internet, flat screen TV. It all made a traveller from the west very comfortable. We booked for 1 night, but stayed for 4 nights.
Construction next door, but that wasn't their fault.

Far enough away from karaoke bars and the main drag.
Did not have a good map explaining how to get there, no easy way to find it.

It was pouring rain when we got to Cat Ba. We rung the hotel and they picked us up.
The room had water leaking in through the window. The bathroom was moldy and the shower was coming off the wall. Our children were cold from being caught in the rain but there was not hot water in the shower. There was a honking bird noise coming from the bush on the mountain outside our window, the noise sounded like 500 birds and they made noise all day and all night. We tried to have lunch downstairs in the hotels restaurant. Four times I asked for glasses to give our children some water. Finally they brought we three oily wet glasses and one also with a bug crack in it. When our lunch came they brought us four of everything instead of one of everything. We had a bag of washing laundered, it came back filthy, I think they only dunked it in water. This hotel was the worst I have ever been to and I have travelled a lot we couldn't checkout fast enough. DO NOT GO TO THIS DIRTY HOTEL FULL OF VERY LAZY PEOPLE!!

Despite a minor inconvenience with the power outage, we had a pleasant stay at Catba Palace. The cleaning staff was friendly and the room had big windows that let in plenty of natural light. I would recommend this hotel.

The rooms were very spacious and well presented. The hotel was in an excellent location, in a street full of shops and restaurants. The staff were probably the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. They were so helpful and happy, i would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

The location is pretty good, as you can reach the harbour and the main street in few minutes. Additionally, three very nice beaches are just 15 minutes walikng away. The room was quite large and comfortable. Staff was willing to help us to arrange the breakfast earlier the last day to make us take the bus back.
The bathroom was a bit dirty and stinking. Nearby there are some construnction, hence the view was not very nice. The lobby is not very nice, so the first impression is weird.

The staff were very helpful. We had an accident (while out of the hotel) and were injured and they really looked after us.
The view of the sea was very limited

The rooms at Catba Palace Hotel are simply amazing! The spaciousness and the view from the balcony are breathtaking. As someone who loves a good night's sleep, I found all the amenities in the guestrooms to be perfect.
Personally, I didn't quite enjoy the soundproofing in the double room. However, I understand that others might still find it sufficient.
